Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua on Wednesday last week met with members of the Eagle Health Care Preventive Volunteers to discuss ways of strengthening community based organisations dealing with health in the county.

The CBOs comprised retired clinical officers, nurses, nutritionists, counselors and midwives.

The groups used the forum to present their proposals to the Governor.

He said some of the issues raised in their proposals have been done or are ongoing and promised to act on more.

The governor said since an agenda had been created, the group can do a follow up.

He also commended the initiative saying it captures the essence of devolution.

"By providing input on management of affairs, this group is actively participating on the governance of their county," he said the Governor.

Mbugua was accompanied by Dr Samuel Mwaura, Chief Officer, Nakuru East Ward MCA James Mwaniki among other county officials.
