A 14 year-old boy from Ruiru, Kiambu County was on Friday arrested together with his two parents for hawking bhang. According to Ruiru OCPD, Isaac Thuranira, the boy was being used by the parents to ferry and sell the contrabands as part of their scheme to evade police detection.

The couple identified as Moses Anjele and Mary Anjele were arrested with their son by the Police following a tip off from members of the public.

"This couple has been using their underage kid to do this business. We shall take them to court to answer to various charges", Thuranira said. According to locals, the boy has been forced by the parents to ditch school several times in order to deliver the contrabands to their clients.

"This child has no future if this is what he will continue doing in the rest of his life. He is selling bhang to both adults and children", said Paul Githinji, a resident. Residents further claimed that the family would also issue unspecified threats to anyone who would dare to inform the Police about the illegal trade. The OCPD hailed residents for exposing the trio and asked them to continue cooperating with police to expose drug peddlers.
