The government has been asked to consider national exam candidates and postpone the upcoming K.C.S.E. and K.C.P.E exams.

Kisumu based activist Stephen Kamana, speaking to this writer on Monday said that students in public schools have not been prepared adequately due to the ongoing strike.

“National exams in Kenya usually determines one's future and there should be enough time for preparation. This year’s candidates however are in trouble due to inadequate preparation. So the government should ensure teachers go back to class to prepare candidates and push forward the exams,” said Kamana.

He added that even though candidates can revise on their own, teachers’ guidance is required in very many areas in regard to exams.

“National exams are answered differently, and teachers’ guidance is need in tackling questions, but our children have not been with teachers to help them,” he added.

Kamana said that incase this year’s results drop, the government should take full responsibility.

He also urged parents to support the idea of postponing the exam, saying they too will feel the effect.
