More than 50 groups that received Uwezo Funds at Bomachoge Borabu constituency, Kisii County have been challenged to manage the funds well to make profits.

Speaking on Monday at Ekerubu Primary School in Bomachoge Borabu constituency, during the ceremony to give cheques for the Uwezo Funds to some groups, the fund’s Chairman in the region Mr Joel Omagwa urged those groups to spend the money wisely.

Omagwa said that Uwezo Fund was started so that it can help the youths and women to boost their lives by engaging in projects that can uplift their livelihoods.

He urged members of 59 groups that received money on Monday to make sure they use it to generate income so that they can continue with the projects they have.

“It is good that we have Uwezo Fund that can help us to do many projects. I encourage you to manage and use the funds well so that you can get better savings that can help you in future,” Omagwa said.

He noted there is need for youths and women who have not formed groups to form them so that they can benefits from the funds.

“It is quite unfortunate to find some youths and women have not joined any groups to benefit from these funds. I encourage them to do so,” Omagwa said.
