Kisii County residents have been warned against bogus Kenya Power officials who connect electricity at their homes at a low price without Kenya Power Company’s permission and knowledge.
This comes in the wake of reports that most houses in Kisii region have illegal power connections.
Kenya Power South Nyanza regional manager David Mogambi on Tuesday warned the public to be careful against 'officials' who are out to fleece members of the public their money.
Mr Mogambi said the company has commenced disconnection of illegal electricity connections in Kisii.
He warned the 'fake officials' of dire consequences if caught engaging in such malpractices.
“I am appealing to Kisii residents, if you need electricity, come to our office in Kisii town, we will process your application and your house will be connected with electricity,” he appealed.
He added: “if you continue using other rogue alternative ways of getting power, then I am sorry because now we have commenced the exercise of disconnecting all illegal power connections”.
