Kaprobu Primary School in Uasin Gishu County is set to record better performance this year after boarding facilities were constructed.

Speaking during the opening ceremony on Monday, Governor Jackson Mandago said that the boarding facilities will save students time instead of travelling home daily.

He assured residents that he will also push for the road to the institution made passable. He said that the facility will not only benefit residents but also those from other regions in the country.

“People should strive to perform since devolution has already taken place and you have the government that will support you fully. I want to create an environment where we can bring up our children in a way that portrays success and create more job opportunities in our county,” said Mandago.

He said that the county his has started a project that will eliminate poverty and unemployment for both women and youth.

“We have initiatives like Inua Mama na Kuku which help reduce poverty among women, and many other projects to benefit residents,” said Mandago.

County assembly Deputy Speaker Hosea Lamai urged the residents to stay together in peace and unity. He further urged residents to take advantage of devolution to improve the lives of their children by taking them to school.

The school recorded the best results in last year's KCPE. Boarding at the school is expected to start in two weeks.
