Kikuyu OCPD has warned bodaboda operators aganist being used to transport illicit brew as they may land in serious trouble.
This comes after a bodaboda operator was arrested transporting 40 litres of illicit brew packed in plastic bags.
The suspect was heading to Kikuyu from Thogoto and was arrested by traffic police along the Kikuyu-Nairobi route early this morning.
Speaking in his office on Monday, the Kikuyu OCPD Mutune Maweu said those behind the illegal business know the consequences behind the business and they now use bodaboda operators.
The police boss explained that incase of any arrests, the bodaboda operators are the ones who will be held reponsible.
Maweu cautioned them against transporting unknown goods and advised them to always check the luggage before transportation as they may land in serious trouble when arrested for transporting illegal goods.
"I warn bodaboda operators against being used to transport illegal goods. Such illegal goods may land them in serious trouble as they will be the first suspects. I urge Sacco managements to play a role in this fight by ensuring their Sacco members do not engage in such illegal businesses," said Maweu.
