Bosamaro Ward representative Boniface Ombori has challenged the youth in the area to apply for tenders offered by the county government.

Ombori observed that the 30 percent rule on procurement act has given the youth an opportunity to improve their welfare through investments.

Speaking on Friday at a burial ceremony in Bosamaro, Ombori said millions of shillings have been allocated to youth development programmes but only a few have turned up seek the funds.

He urged the youth apply for county government tenders to provide services and to improve their welfare.

“Youths are the foundation of any society and if they apply for tenders I am sure they will get them since it is something provided by the law,” he said.

He pointed out that the county government is aware of the challenges facing the youth, and will introduce policies to ensure they are fully involved in governance and county issues.

Ombori called upon the youth to be aware of unscrupulous people trying to use them to get government tenders to provide services to the country government.

He called on Youth Bunge to partner with the County government to scrutinise those awarded tenders to ensure they fully benefit from the 30 per cent quotas allocated to them.
