University students have been challenged to partner with the county government of Kisumu by bringing business proposals for consideration.

Kisumu communications and ICT Chief Officer George Akongo said that students normally have business ideas that often go to waste due to lack of implementation.

Speaking to this HiviSasa on Wednesday in his office at the county headquarters in Kisumu, Akongo challenged university and college students to take their business proposals to the county government saying that it could act as a form of employment and a learning experience for them.

Akongo said that the ideas of the youth could go long way in contributing to development in Kisumu.

"We have to engage the youth for Kisumu to grow economically. This starts with then keeping the county government on toes by engaging with the government in business forums," said Akongo.

Kisumu Nominated MCA Lydia Odhiambo, also challenged the youth to partner with the county government in various business ideas to reduce on the high level of unemployment.
