Turbo Constituency MP Elisha Busienei has asked politicians both in government and opposition to stop petty politics and work for Kenyans.
Speaking at St. Paul’s Primary School in his constituency on Suturday, Busienei blamed petty politics on poverty and other socio-economic challenges facing most Kenyans.
MP Busienei claimed that politicians are concentrating on petty politics at the expense of addressing the problems facing Kenyans.
He said that poverty will continue to bite the country, unless politicians realise their work and address the issues facing the people.
“Some politicians find pleasure in politicking at the expense of listening and addressing problems facing Kenyans, this country will remain under the chains of poverty if politicians fail to change this habit,” said Busienei.
The Turbo MP said that it is time that politicians realised that the country belongs to Kenyans.
He said that while many Kenyans feel insecure and hungry, some of their leaders are concerned with petty and selfish issues which continue making lives of people not better.
Busienei said that what ail Kenya is selfish, greed, corruption and selfish interests among its leaders. He asked politicians to use the remaining two years to serve Kenyans. At the same time, he cautioned leaders against politicising development projects.
He said that politics and development do not go together and that Kenyans are being denied services because of petty politics.
Busienei urged leaders both in government and the opposition wing to shelve their issues and work together for the benefit of Kenyans.
He said that Kenya needs good and supportive leadership if issues facing its citizens are to be addressed.
