Businesses have closed down due to the fear of unrest in Maseno after fire razed down the Schools administration block.
Jack Omondi who runs a shop in Maseno says he has been forced to close down for fear of looting.
“I have suffered once from this when students striked; they looted my shop taking almost all my goods including money. I am lucky they spared my life last time and I am not ready to suffer like that again.” Says Omondi.
The anti-riot police are on high alert in the school armed to the teeth incase any riot erupts.
A better part of Wednesday night was full of chaos as the police tried to calm the students who were engaging the police in hide and seek games. They were forced to use tear gas to force them back to their hostels.
Business owners are now appealing for their protection fully aware of the repercussions of any unrest.
