Police in Ruiru on Friday arrested a man in connection with the murder of a Kiambu businessman.
Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira said that Samuel Kande, 40, a butcher was arrested on Friday morning at Tearoom Bus Station . He is alleged to have killed the businessman after they disagreed over a Sh500 debt.
“Early in the morning, our officers arrested the suspect as he was preparing to flee to a neighbouring country,” said Thuranira.
Thuranira said that they have launched investigation into the murder. He said the suspect would be arraigned before a court after police are through with investigations.
“Police have started to piece together information over the allegations and we will arraign the suspect before court once we are through,” said Thuranira.
Kande is accused of stabbing Moses Kamande on September 10 after a disagreement erupted over a Sh500 debt in Kiambu County.
Thuranira thanked members of public who made it possible for the arrest of the suspect.
“The public deserve credit for providing the information that led to the arrest of the suspect,” said Thuranira.
The deceased was buried yesterday during an emotional send off at Kiambu County. The bereaved family demanded for arrest of the suspect.
