The Chairman, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kiprono Kitony is expected to visit Kisumu in November October to scale up the registration of business people into the Chamber.
Kisumu Chamber of Commerce branch Director of Business Development Israel Agina said the chairman will have the opportunity to meet business people in the lakeside city.
Mr Agina said the Chamber always disburses funds to the regions based on the number of members and called for more registration of people to Chamber.
“Chamber always gives money to members for business promotion based on the number of members in a region ad I find it important to encourage Kisumu people to join the Chamber,” he said.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Friday, Agina further lauded the partnership between the county government of Kisumu and Kenya Power to light up the city.
Mr Agina said every street in the Central Business District is now well lit.
He said the move will make Kisumu a 24-hour economy city as most businesses will go all night as a result of light.
“Security is now better and business people within the town should reconsider closing early but embrace 24-hour economy businesses,” he stressed.
Mr Agina appealed to the locals to guard such an initiative with a lot of enthusiasm and report anybody who is out to vandalism the lights.
