Riamoni location chief Mr Francis Rasugu is fighting claims that he has been leading campaigns to impound illicit brew by targeting members of a particular clan and allegedly being soft on offenders from his clan.

Speaking to this writer on Saturday, chief Rasugu accused locals engaged in the ‘malicious’ debate of being unfair to him and vowed to continue cracking the whip on illicit brew.

Riamoni location chief located in Kitutu Masaba Constituency faulted a section of residents for allegedly trying to shield the evil in the name of the clan and dared any of them to produce evidence against him.

“The war against illicit brew is not mine, it must be done without discrimination and that is what I am doing. Whoever is bringing the issue of clan is not being sincere. I challenge them to produce concrete evidence for the same,” said Chief Rasugu.

He said the crackdown has seen over 900 litres of Changa’aa poured with at least 20 people subjected to court and subsequently paid fines for engaging in the illicit brew after President Uhuru Kenyatta declared the war on illicit brew about three weeks ago.

“The exercise has been a success and I must say that we will never tire because we are almost there. A number of people have been arraigned in court and atleast 900 liters of chang’aa has been impounded,” said Rasugu.

Mr Rasugu warned residents who have been targeting members of community policing and promised to take a ‘decisive action’ against those who have been threatening the community policing team.

Recently members of Bogetutu clan accused the administrator on targeting them adding that the chief shields his Botabori clan members whom were allegedly carrying out Changa’aa business.
