Maseno residents want the contractor in charge of developing a commercial plot to unblock a road entering Maseno Market citing inconveniences.
The contractor is said to have placed construction materials in the middle of the road and the locals are finding it difficult accessing the market from that side.
“For the past three days going into the market has been difficult, and the situation seems not be ending anytime soon because the materials are being added daily," said Rose Akinyi.
Frequent users of the road are now forced to go around the market in order to access the market something which they say is time consuming.
“We just want him to consider the users of this road before doing anything, you cannot just inconvenience the whole town just for your own gains, this is not good at all,” said Gregory Okwiri a trader in the market.
The contractor has been accused by locals of failing to apply safety measures during the construction. They want the area under construction fenced out.
