Jubilee coalition members of parliament have told off Cord leaders over fighting the government.
Speaking in Ruiru on Sunday when they accompanied area MP Esther Gathogo to a fund raiser, the MPs claimed that Cord leaders do not appreciate the equality portrayed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in distributing resources.
Led by the Majority leader Aden Duale, the legislators told Cord principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to respect the country’s leadership.
Duale said Cord should wait for their time to ask for the people’s votes come 2017.
“Political noise will not take them anywhere. They should wait for the coming elections,” said Duale.
Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru warned Cord against the constant attacks on the government saying the attacks do not promote development.
“Cord leaders are always attacking the Jubilee government. If they cannot help people, they should let the hustlers do it. They should stop lecturing people about corruption and instead remove the logs in their eyes before they can think of the speck in other people’s eyes,” said Waweru.
Other legislators who attended the function include Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Muranga Women Rep Wanjiru Chege, Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a among others. The leaders vowed to stand united in support of the government.
