Kisii County Government will build a museum as one way of promoting culture.
Speaking on Thursday at Kisii University during National Council of Elders conference held at the main library hall, Deputy Governor Joash Maangi assured the elders that the county has set aside resources to construct the museum.
“We have measures in place that will help us to set up a museum in our county as one way of promoting our culture,” Maangi said.
He said constructing the museum will help children and residents learn more as well as get an opportunity to know their culture.
Maangi who represented Governor James Ongwae said the county government is always working with the Council of Elders and it will keep on supporting them.
“Through the good relationship and partnership with elders we are able to renovate them a house which they are using and we will continue supporting them whenever they need help ,” added the deputy governor.
The conference was attended by councils of elders from all 47 counties who vowed to work together for the better of this country.
