Ekalakala MCA Isaac Muinde has asked local residents to participate more in their county's development.
Speaking during a meeting at Karimba market in Masinga Sub-County on Thursday, Muinde said the devolved system of government required the input of wananchi in all development matters for progress to take place.
Muinde said development projects being implemented in the county were meant to benefit the local people but that may never happen if the intended beneficiaries did not express their development priorities.
"We have always called for public participation whenever important development matters need to be discussed but I am always disappointed by the poor turnout,” said Muinde.
The MCA said it was through attending development forums that local people who fund projects through their taxes will know how their money was being spent by elected leaders.
Muinde called on the area residents to support the on going war against insecurity saying that he has partnered with the local administration to ensure there is enough security in the area to safeguard the public.
Local residents asked the leader to improve services in the water supply docket by ensuring his officers streamlined operations in the Gatua and Karimba Water Projects.
