A middle aged man was today arraigned before a Kiambu court for allegedly defiling his disabled child in Ting’ang’a, Kiambu County.
The court was told that Patrick Kinyanjui was arrested by police from Ting’ang’a Police Post after reports that he was defiling his disabled 12-year-old daughter were received.
The father who was living with the girl after her mother died two years ago, is said to have been defiling the girl for quite a long time before his arrest. The girl is physically disabled and uses a wheelchair.
The prosecution explained that the girl reported the incident to her class teacher after she had been traumatised for a while. This was after the teacher got concerned after she noticed the girl was unhappy which was unusual as she’s known to be jovial.
The girl was said to have been dull in class prompting the teacher to call her after the lessons. The girl was afraid to reveal it since her father had been threatening to kill her if she ever mentioned about it to anyone.
The teacher went and reported the incident to the headteacher who went to Tng’an’ga Police Post and reported the incident.
Kinyanjui denied committing the offence. Kiambu Principal Magistrate Ms Diana Mochache released him on a Sh1 million bond a similar surety until June 30 when the case will be heard.
