Parents from Rioguso Sub-location, Nyacheki Division have been challenged to follow-up on their children's school performance, instead of shifting blame to teachers.
Kisii University Director of Marketing, Evelyn Bosire has underscored the importance of parents playing their roles responsibly, instead of shifting blame to the teachers and other education stakeholders whenever their children perform poorly in school assignments and national examinations.
Speaking at Naikuru PAG Secondary school where she represented the University's Vice-Chancellor, Pof. John Akama, who was supposed to preside over the school's Education Day, Bosire also reminded parents that for their children to perform well in schools, they were supposed to track their children's whereabouts and how they perform in their daily school assignments.
"I am challenging parents from the local communities to take their children's education seriously through following-up on their school assignments and performance in their school-based examinations and education curriculum, to ensure they are on track instead of leaving their children to the mercies of their teachers alone.
Bosire reminded education stakeholders that time had come for every stakeholder to play their rightful roles to ensure children get quality education, instead of shifting blame from one stakeholder to the other, much to the detriment of the children's education and life careers.
