Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo has lauded the area’s security committee for the intensive fight against insecurity and illicit brews.
Speaking when she met the security heads from the sub-county on Thursday, the legislator said that the officers and administrators have proved that they can work together to tame brewing and selling of brews in Ruiru.
Gathogo added that she has been impressed by the residents who have been tipping the police on the same. She called on them to continue partnering with the security agents in making work easier for them.
The legislator cautioned anyone still selling the brews business to consider venturing into other activities.
“Those left in the alcohol business kindly shift to other activities and avoid collision with my team and the security officers. We are on the ground with the residents to ensure we clear this area completely,” she said.
The MP conducted a raid in the morning in Kimbo area where she recovered 39 cartons of spirits and over 500 litres of different types of illicit brews hidden in bushes which she led the residents into the breaking and dumping.
