Villagers from Boigesa village of Giasaiga Sub-location of Sameta Sub-County have decried delayed distribution of anti-malaria parasite mosquito nets from the government following reports of impending El nino rains.

The residents among them Mary Getaka lamented that they have been waiting for official communication from the area Assistant Chief's office on the fate of the nets which they were registered to receive with no positive response.

"We have been registered by our village headmen as beneficiaries of the Government's free mosquito nets, but we are yet to receive the nets. No official communication with regards to the matter has been made to us,"stated Getaka.

In response the area village headman, Kasmir Maobe clarified that the nets will be distributed soon and called on the local residents to be patient as the government procedure will follow due process.

"We as village headmen registered all our households within our areas of jurisdiction to benefit from the government's free anti-malaria nets. What is remaining is official communication from our assistant chief's office on the exact date when the distribution of the nets will kick off and communicate the same to our residents," stated Maobe.
