Nakuru Town East lawmaker David Gikaria has called on all Nakuru county elected leaders to demonstrate integrity in political leadership to address the challenges facing the area residents.
Gikaria said that lack of good political will plunged the county into a political turmoil sometime back and urged the politicians not to allow the same vice to re-emerge.
“We want our elected leaders to have mature political focus when addressing the challenges affecting Nakuru residents," said Gikaria.
The legislator said there is need for politicians to foster a general understanding of the concepts of national cohesion and interrogation.
Gikaria also urged leaders to promote principles, standards and best practices that should guide the process of national cohesion integration and reconciliation.
“Our leaders should unify and integrate Kenyans into a cohesive society guided by national values and good principles of governance,” said Gikaria.
Speaking on Friday at Nakuru Sports Club during a breakfast prayer, the MP urged elected leaders to enhance unity for social and economical developments.
“Leaders should work to ensure that peace reigns so that all Nakuru residents can experience social stability," he said.
The event was attended by MPs Arama Samuel (Nakuru Town West) Onesmas Ngunjiri (Bahati), Kipruto Moi (Rongai), Nelson Gaicuhie (Subukia), Moses Cheboi (Kuresoi North), Zakayo Cheruiyot (Kuresoi South), Samuel Ndiritu (Gilgil) John Kihagi (Naivasha), Joseph Kiuna (Njoro) and Jacob Macharia (Molo).
