Youth have been urged to make independent decisions and avoid being used by politicians.
Speaking after overseeing the distribution of reflector jackets to bodaboda operators at Industrial bus stage on the outskirts of Nakuru town on Thursday, Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria encouraged young people to put aside personal differences and work towards a creating unity among themselves and their peers in Nakuru.
According to the legislature, society would be a better place if young people could recognise their role in shaping it and work towards making it accommodative.
“I have risen in the ranks as a youthful leader to become what you see today, any young person out there is not an exception; with the right mentorship, self believe and having the right morals, nothing is impossible,” he advised.
Young people have directed their energies to destroying and causing harm to one another something Gikaria attributes to the continuous fights being witnessed especially during elections.
“We are one in business, education and other sectors of the economy, where do we mess during elections? This cooperation must be exhibited at all times if we want to make sober decisions,” he noted.
In collaboration with the National Transport ant Safety Authority, the area MP distributed reflector jackets to more than 200 operators in a move aimed at promoting road safety in the county.
The second phase of the project is slated for two weeks and according to Gikaria, he was not going to relent in his efforts of ensuring a safe and accident free Nakuru.
