As the El-nino rains are expected to start any time from now, Kisii residents have appealed to the county government to distribute mosquito nets it promised to give them over two months ago.
According to the residents, it is about two months now since they registered to be given mosquito nets to prevent malaria during and after El-Nino rains.
Addressing journalists in Kisii town on Wednesday the residents led by Jackson Mokworo, said they fear getting malaria as they do not have mosquito nets.
They have challenged the Kisii government to state when it will start the distribution exercise.
“We need to be told when to expect the mosquito nets if they are available. If there are no mosquito nets, let us be informed and look for other ways of getting them before the El Nino rains begin,” said Gladys Mocheche.
“Since we were registered to get mosquito nets is over two months ago but we have been waiting for long time now let them show us about the nets,” added Mocheche
