Teachers’ Service Commission, Cabinet Secretary and SRC are to blame for the collapse of the AoN teachers medical scheme that was meant to benefit teachers, Wareng KNUT Secretary General John Boor has said.

Speaking in his office on Monday, Boor revealed that the government said the tender was open, and AoN won squarely, but since some people had self-interests, the plan was scattered.

“It is a game plan manipulated by the government, TSC, SRC to kill the gains made by the teacher, first the industrial court rewarding us 50-60 pay increase, and now the medical scheme and whose aim is to divide teachers using busy bodies such as KUPPET who have snatched 10,000 teachers from KNUT in the name of AoN medical cover is inferior to NHIF,” he said.

“I urge teachers to remain calm and wait for formal communication from KNUT national offices for them to know on the way forward on their medical scheme,” he went on.

“Teachers unity is our strength and we will support our national secretary general to the latter, and he is the one who will tell us the way forward and we will not allow any intimidation or threats whatsoever from any forces,” he added.
