Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed MPs from the Rift Valley region putting pressure on him to vie for the presidency in 2017.

Speaking at Keringet Boys High School where he presided over a funds drive for the school over the weekend, the DP insisted that he is in Jubilee to stay and that he will still back President Uhuru Kenyatta come the next general elections.

He said that walking out of the Jubilee Alliance would be committing a political suicide to which his predecessors have been victims.

“I will not make the mistake which Odinga, Mudavadi and Karua made. Mudavadi is in the political cold because of listening to people who cheated him that he would beat the president in the general elections. Karua is also out of Parliament because she was misled and ran against President Kenyatta who has massive backing from Kenyans,” he noted.

He insisted that he will wait until 2022 when Uhuru’s term expires before he thinks of contesting for the presidency.

“I will not abandon president Uhuru but I will work with him until when his term will expire,” Ruto said. He also asked his supporters to join the Jubilee Alliance Party terming it as the only way to ensure that he wins the 2022 General Elections
