Chairman of Matutu Primary School at Gesima Ward, Nyamira County George Osare has asked headteachers to be involving parents in decisions making in school to enhance development in schools.
Speaking on Monday to this writer Chairman Osare urged headteachers and principals from various schools in the county to always involve parents in decision making in schools to agree on which projects to prioritise to improve academic performance in the institutions.
According to chairman Osare, some schools have failed to perform well simply because of lack of coordination between parents and teachers on how to manage the school.
“Achievements of schools depend on good relationship between teachers, parents and children which are the pillars of success in schools,” added Osare.
Headteachers and principals should know that if they can make their decisions without involving parents, then it will be hard to tell the parents to assist whenever a problem occurs.
Chairman Osare who is a retired teacher also urged parents to support teachers and put their differences aside, have politics out of in school affairs.
He also asked leaders to support schools in the county to enable schools from the county to be among the best counties especially in national exams.
