Iyabe location chief's office in Kisii County is set to get a facelift after Bonchari Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocated Sh500,000 for upgrading its offices and facilities.

According to the area chief Joseph Mosumari during an interview, his office was in a terrible state and was almost collapsing. In addition the office will be connected with electricity.

This comes a few days after the area Member of Parliament, Zebedeo Opore promised to begin a program of improving the status of all chiefs’ offices in the area commending the administrators for the big role they have played in promoting peace and cohesion among residents at the grassroots.

The MP had said it was the national government’s role to ensure all chiefs are well taken care of and operate in good offices while serving the locals.

The Chief thanked the CDF secretariat for considering the chief offices and many others in the constituency after years of neglect.

“The office has been for a while neglected for long. We appreciate the gesture,” said Mosumari.
