Ramba Church Choir in Bogichora Ward on Tuesday donated foodstuffs to an orphanage in Nyamira.
The choir leaders said they gave out the food stuffs to enable children in the orphanage live a better life.
Led by Priscilla Nyanduko, the group said they decided to give back to the community after they recorded good income from their music sales in 2015 and expect to give more with time.
The donation from the group included foodstuffs, bathing soaps, sanitary towels, spiritual books and clothing all valued at Sh50,000.
According to Clare Children’s’ Home Head Damaris Ombaso, the choir has been an integral part of the children’s home as it helps the children feel at home and have spiritual uplifting.
She said the children’s home had children from different homes who were happy living together.
The children from the home would not hide their joy after receiving the donations from the choir.
Led by one of the chidren, Charles Mogaka, they thanked the church choir and called for more good givers to help them where they can so that they can live comfortably.
