The Judges and Magistrates Vetting board has reiterated the fact that it considered service delivery, professionalism and completion of cases on time before cracking the whip.

Speaking at the Masada Hotel in Naivasha on Tuesday after overseeing the process, the board's chairperson Sharad Rao said the decision was purely based on a number of factors.

"We are a group of professional personalities who took the mandate tasked on us for the sake of aligning the profession and ensuring all Kenyans get justice in the most convincing manner possible," Rao noted.

He further noted that more changes were in the offing saying if all the recommendations documented will be necessitated, all the loopholes in the Judiciary will be sealed.

This comes in the wake of revelations that a number of civil societies and rights groups plan to stage demonstrations in Nairobi and other major towns to express their displeasure with the board’s findings and recommendations.

The magistrates who were axed in the report were; Lily Monica Nafula, Teresia Njeri Ngugi and Bildad Ochieng.
