Juja Member of Parliament Francis Munyua has faulted a section of the Kiambu County government officials for mobilizing residents of Juja to demonstrate on Monday.
The MP said that he is surprised to see MCAs and county officials partner to make him appear bad in the eyes of the public, alleging that he has misappropriated public funds meant for roads renovation in Witeithie Ward.
Speaking when the residents of Witeithie stormed his offices after blocking the Thika superhighway for over four hours, the legislator called on the public not to accept the rumor mongers that are inciting on them to demonstrate against his leadership.
He added that the roads are in his custody, and he has delegated the task to the CDF officers who have already identified a contractor for the roads.
He said that the board that has been placed on the road was put up by the contractor and not him.
Munyua further noted that the inciting leaders are a contributing factor to lack of development in Juja compared to other sub-counties, despite the leaders being in office for almost three years now.
He noted that the area MCAs have left all the development projects to the CDF office that he leads, and thus it is hard for him to address every issue at a go.
Munyua has called on the leaders to unite and shun from incitement to help develop Juja like other sub-counties.
The irate residents however calmed down after being addressed.
