Residents of Kangundo Sub-County have been advised to attend public meetings held by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Speaking in Kangundo Town on Monday, the Kangundo Sub-County returning officer Fidelis Kitili said that residents were not attending public address meetings and exercises carried out by IEBC.
"The public should really take these public address meetings seriously and avail themselves at the venues on time. The meetings are important as useful information is usually conveyed to the public,” said Kitili.
The returning officer said the meetings held by IEBC are geared towards educating and informing residents about the voting and voter registration processes.
This comes after only ten residents attended a meeting held at Kangundo Town.
However, the residents blamed IEBC saying that many of them were not informed about the meeting.
"A lot of people did not attended the meeting because they were not aware of it. IEBC should look for a more effective way of informing residents about such meetings,” said Samuel Kioo, a resident.
