Jua Kali traders in Kathiani Constituency on Wednesday received a cheque of Sh500,000 from the CDF to boost their trade.

The money is meant for a project to build a showroom for the traders to exhibit their products.

Area MP Robert Mbui presided over the cheque handing over ceremony where he promised to make Kathiani an industrial town by working closely with the county government.

“In the next few years this town should be recognised through the efforts we make as the jua kali people. We should be able in the map for providing good jua kali products,” he said.

The MP also encouraged the jua kali traders to form their own Saccos and expand their market for a big income in the county and also for personal income.

“My work is to facilitate and give you support because you elected me to work for you. Work hard because Kathiani is the root of this area's development,” Mbui added.
