Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna has challenged "outsiders" to keep off Nakuru County's politics.

Kiuna argued that the county has politicians of integrity who are intent on steering it to the next level.

“There are outsiders who want to destabilise the social stability in Nakuru County and I have to warn those with such motives that Nakuru is not the place for cheap politics,” said Kiuna.

While addressing journalists in Nakuru town, the legislator urged politicians in the county to to safeguard their political leadership from being misused by “outsiders”.

“We don't want ethnicity to be propagated by outsiders and our leaders should shun such misguided misconceptions,” said the MP.

He called on elected leaders to strive to develop and sustain processes that alleviate ethnicity and promote diversity through knowledge creation, advocacy and patriotism.

The legislator urged politicians to embrace national values and uphold national unity to spur development in the county.

“There is need for politicians to stop politicking and focus on national interests to transform the residents’ lives,” said Kiuna.

He added that the interests of residents are of great importance than the self interests of politicians, and urged leaders to demonstrate high level of integrity when serving Kenyans.

The lawmaker further urged residents to work with county government officials to foster growth.
