Keroche Breweries Limited CEO Tabitha Karanja has asked the government to protect legitimate liquor companies from the ongoing crackdown targeting illegal alcoholic drinks and brews.
Karanja says that liquor products from some companies which are legally in operation are being targeted in the ongoing crackdown.
Addressing the press at the company offices in Naivasha on Tuesday, Karanja said that some goons are plotting to invade the company and cause destruction.
She said that her company has been licensed and given the nod to operate by all government agencies.
“We are asking the government to protect liquor companies that are operating legally from the ongoing destruction,” she said.
The Keroche CEO said that all the products being produced by her company are standard.
She added that her company will not resist inspection from the government agencies.
“The government agencies mandated to carry out inspection are welcomed to inspect and assess our products,” she said.
The CEO refuted claims that some of her company products are illegal saying that the allegations are malicious.
Karanja supported the fight against illegal alcoholic drinks and brews saying that they have blighted the market.
She said that there is need for tough laws on production and sale of alcohol in the country.
