Traders in Keumbu Market, Kisii County have urged the county government to speed up the construction of a bus stage and the market to boost business in the area.
The traders said that they are hoping that the construction of the stage and a better market by the county government of Kisii will boost business by providing more space to reduce congestion.
Daniel Buyaki, a trader at the market said more speed was needed to complete the project to ensure the traders resume normal business operations saying the process had disrupted them.
“We are urging our county government to speed up the construction so that the business can come back to its normal routine, but we are happy as we are going to have more space,” he said.
The county government has funded the construction of a modern stage and market at Keumbu to improve trading operations in the area.
Keumbu Market is among major markets in Kisii County and is located along the Kisii–Nairobi Highway.
