Kiambu County deputy commissioner Norbert Komora has cautioned youths against being lured into criminal gangs and acts.
Speaking to journalists in Kiambu town on Sunday, Mr Komora said youths being recruited into criminal gangs will be dealt with according to the law.
The deputy county commissioner said that police are carrying out investigations following claims that some people could be recruiting youths into criminal gangs.
“We are telling youths across Kiambu to keep off people who would want to use them in criminal activities,” he said.
Mr Komora urged the youths to report people who want to lure them into crime saying that police will intensify patrols in the area in a bid to curb crime.
He said that law enforcers are prepared to deal with criminal gangs adding that criminals have nowhere to run to.
He called on the residents to share intelligence with the police for effective fight against crime.
Mr Komora said that the public has an important role to play on matters of security.
“We need the support of the public for us to streamline the fight against crime,” he said.
Komora added that the Nyumba Kumi initiative can help streamline security if residents adopt it.
