Kibera parents have expressed concerns over this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam leakages.

This comes after Kibra MP Ken Okoth alleged on his twitter account on Sunday that he had been given a paper suspected to be an English paper which was to be done on Monday.

The Kenya National Examinations Council has been under pressure to cancel the ongoing KSCE tests over irregularities.

On Monday, a section of parents said they support their children’s education and do not want the exams cancelled, noting that they have invested heavily in their children’s education.

Monica Maureen said she supports her late sister’s children and has made sure they get quality education and are now sitting their final exams in secondary school.

“It has been a long journey, sometimes they had to sleep without food because we could not afford. They also had to empty sewages to earn some cash to sustain them,” she added.

Isaac Khaemba said he has spent about half a million shillings on his son’s secondary education and cancelling the exams will kill his morale of performing or continuing with studies.

He appealed to his fellow parents to be on look out so that they can save the children’s future.
