Kikuyu MCA Binary Wainaina has lauded women in the area for their fight against the illicit brew menace.

Speaking at a women's meeting on Thursday, at the Give Hope hall in Kikuyu town, Wainaina stated that women in the area have shown their endless struggle towards the fight against illicit brew.

He added that women had shown a good example by working closely with security officers to curb the menace.

The MCA stated that women had joined forces in the area and were reporting the existence of illicit brew dens that were promoting the business.

He hailed the women and urged them to keep fighting the vice in a bid to save the society from this illicit brew disaster.

"However, despite the efforts by women in the area, some women are still promoting the business as they are the illicit brewers," said Wainaina.

He added: "The fight aganist illicit brew is a community fight that should involve all locals. Women in this area have closely worked with the government to curb this menace. They have shown us a good example and the community should embrace this spirit not only in this fight but in any other illegal acts."

Grace Njeri, the women chairlady said that women in the area were helping police to end the menace stating that they were saving the future generation from the illicit brew.

She mentioned that the menace had taken root and it had already attracted some youths.

She said that the women in the area will provide the names of the women who are promoting the business in the area.
