Njoro Sub County Assistant Commissioner Joseph Kinyanjui has called on the area residents to desist from attacking each other in cases of conflicts.

Speaking on Tuesday after a confrontation ensued between two groups over an alleged grabbed public land in the area, Mr Kinyanjui slammed the residents for attacking each other over issues that could be solved amicably. 

"In a modern society, fighting is for the illiterate and people who are rigid to change and personal growth," he said. 

Some residents were against the alleged grabbing of the land and another comprising of youths working at the site had been involved in physical confrontations after their demonstrations turned ugly. 

The assistant commissioner called for calm, promising to involve the relevant authorities to look into the matter. 

"Let's calm down as the government investigates the matter and I promise that a lasting solution will be found," he noted. 

The residents were against an alleged public land grabber who is accused of encroaching on land earmarked for a public cemetery.
