Two Nakuru legislators have put to task the National Police Service Commission chair Johnstone Kavuludi over the dismissal of the town's top cop Benard Kioko.

Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria and his Nakuru West counterpart Samuel Arama said they read mischief in the whole police vetting process.

The two who spoke during Mashujaa Day fete at Afraha stadium decried Kioko's removal adding that his exit had led to a rise in crime in the town.

"We are telling Kavuludi that Kioko is an innocent and hardworking officer and his exit from this place has really aggravated the security situation," Gikaria said.

On his part, Arama asked the Kavuludi-led commission to be genuine in its work and not victimise police officers for the sake of it.

"I wonder how Kavuludi and his team arrived at recommendations to sack officers. I think it is not fair to simply peg it on money transfers. Aren’t police officers allowed to send and receive money via M-Pesa?" he queried.

Kioko who at the time of his dismissal was Nakuru OCPD was sent packing last week by the NPSC alongside several other top ranking police officers who were found to be unfit by the commission.
