Kisii County CeC for Physical planning and Urban Development Moses Onderi has warned private developers in Kisii town and its environs against the construction of structures without involving his department.
Speaking in his office on Thursday morning, Onderi said that it will be difficult to make the sewage-line functional, since the town was constructed without a development plan, and above all such buildings risk the lives of residents.
“It is possible to arrest the current situation in the upcoming town if we will put our foot down not to accept any unplanned structure in all our towns,” he said.
He said county government will re-possess all plots which were allocated to private developers who are not able to either develop them or maintain them to the expectation of the department of planning.
He called upon private developers to make sure they have complied with the construction and county planning rules to see them succeed in their projects.
“We are warning those who want to do any kind of construction without involving the county government in their plans for we will demolish the structures once they have been started,” warned the secretary.
