Kisii University has acquired new seats for students.

More than 200 seats were brought into the school on Tuesday.

This achievement has occurred after students complained about carrying of seats from one lecture hall to the other.

In addition, the old, broken seats are also under repair to curb this chair shortage at the university.

Speaking to the halls department manager Douglas Mong'are, he said that there were enough chairs but due to careless handling by students, the chairs have been damaged.

"The seats are yet to be placed into the respective classes and halls because they are being numbered," he said.

Currently, the university has been using metallic chairs but this has been replaced by wooden ones as they are light and also cheaper to purchase.

"I am now happy because I will not carry chairs from one hall to the other. I will waste no more energy," a second-year student said.

The seats are expected to be in use once they have been labelled.

Students have been urged to use the university resources sparingly as they will still need them later.
