The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has expressed confidence that the national exams will go on as earlier planned.
According to the council's senior deputy secretary Ambia Noor, all measures are in place to ensure all centres receive the necessary examination material on time.
She said that distribution was ongoing till October 10 when all exams are expected to have a clear timetable of events.
"All the 35,045 centres will have received the necessary materials before the end of Saturday October 10," she told a press briefing at Mitihani house yesterday.
Noor revealed that the El nino threat was nothing to cause any alarm because the council had procured services of a helicopter to transport exams to all the affected areas.
A total of 525, 802 candidates are expected to seat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and 937, 467 for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
She further sent a stern warning to exam cheats saying that serious actions will be take to schools, centres and facilitators found guilty encouraging the vice.
