A teacher's union official has called for the review of the education system saying it was exam-centred.
Chepkoilel Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) executive secretary, Sammy Bor, said the current curriculum focuses on churning out job seekers instead of job creators.
Said the Knut official in his office on Tuesday; "Since the introduction of the 8-4-4 education system, much emphasis has been on theory rather than practicals, so I urge the national government to include more technical subjects in the system that will help students acquire skills that will help them transform the country and the world".
He added that the curriculum should also be tailor-made to conform with modern trends in information and technology.
