Diocese of Eldoret Catholic Bishop Cornelius Korir has appealed to Kenyans to embrace unity.

Speaking during a Sunday Service Mass at The Sacred Eldoret Cathedral on Sunday, Korir said that unity will drive the country forward.

Bishop Korir observed that the political temperatures are rising and Kenyans must remember that they are brothers and sisters.

The Catholic bishop cautioned Kenyans against being influenced by political divisions saying that the country needs to move forward.

“Kenyans should embrace each other and know that they are here for one another and keep the spirit of togetherness,” he said.

Korir said the country needs to be peaceful adding that every citizen must play his or her role in ensuring peace.

Korir at the same time challenged political leaders to tone down and address the challenges facing the country.

The bishop said continued politicking will not address the key issues facing the nation.

He asked both leaders in the government and the opposition to share ideas in order to move the country forward.

Korir said the church will continue to provide the necessary support where possible to make sure that the country is peaceful and united.
