Kenyans have been asked to embrace each other regardless of their political or religious affiliations.

Speaking after issuing cheques at Yamumbi IDP camp Eldoret town in Uasin Gishu County, Deputy President William Ruto urged residents to embrace healing and reconciliation to prevent a recurrence of the 2007-8 post election violence.

"What happened after the 2007 election violence should be condemned with the strongest terms possible. It should not be allowed to happen in our country again. I urge Kenyans to shun politicians who are fond of preaching hatred to divide Kenyans along their political or religious affiliations since with such leaders, Kenya may go back to the 2007 post election violence. Such leaders should be condemned with the strongest terms possible," Ruto said.

He urged politicians from both divides whether from the government or opposition to preach love and hope so that Kenyans can live harmoniously with each other instead of always inciting them against a particular tribe or person.
