Owners of lodgings in Kisii town and its environs have been asked to keep particulars of their clients to enable police track suspects in cases of killings or any other criminal acts.
In a statement released by Kisii Central OCPD Tom Mutisya, lodging owners in Kisii and its environs should always keep details of all people who board rooms in their premises and make sure they have all the identities needed before getting the rooms.
He added that owners of lodgings would be held responsible for killings that occur in their premises if they do not produce particulars of the suspected clients.
He said there have been cases of killings and most recently the one that happened in Nakuru over the weekend and therefore there was need to beef up security in the areas to avoid such incidents.
The police boss warned those engaging in criminal activities of legal action.
“All the lodging owners in Kisii and its environs should have clear records of their clients so that in case of any problem, we are able to track the people involved,” Mr Mutisya said.
