The Chairman of the Deputy Governors’ Forum Dr Joash Maangi has called on deputy governors and governors to work closely, to ensure their counties' devolution agenda succeeds within schedule.

Maangi observed that having poor or strained working relationships between governors and their deputies will derail and delay the devolution dream in the country.

Speaking at Agricultural Training Centre in Kisii during the county's Annual Agriculture and Farmers' field Day organised by ATC, Maangi, who is also the Kisii Deputy Governor observed that counties will not achieve their devolution agenda if the governors and their deputies will be embroiled in political wars, which do not add value to their counties.

Singling out Kisii County, he lamented that there were some individuals fuelling cold political war between him and his boss, James Ongwae, but warned the individuals in question that their dirty tricks will not work.

“Your excellence I want to make it public that there two or three individuals in this county trying to create differences between me and you, but I am warning them that they will not succeed since we promised the people of Kisii County that we will be working together, to ensure they achieve their devolution expectations,” stated Maangi.

Maangi clarified that his working relationship with Ongwae was intact, and there was no doubt or contradiction on their working relationship, adding that those who want to create unnecessary political differences between him and Ongwae will fail terribly.
